WAKE UP, AMERICA!

WAKE UP, AMERICA! Our government is failing! Every level our of political system is rife with corruption, greed, and deceit. We are are fed up with it! The evidence is clear: Republican President George W. Bush has one of the lowest executive approval ratings in history while the Democratic Congress’ national approval rating is even lower. The Supreme Court, a tool of whatever party controls the Executive Branch, matters so little to Americans that most don’t care to even have an opinion.  The Democratic and Republican parties are responsible for the failures of our government, and we must hold them accountable!

WAKE UP, AMERICA! Our two party system has failed us time and time again! It has been corrupted by special interest groups that, by their very nature, are dividing the American people along partisan lines.  Issues such as abortion, the death penalty, and stem cell research have nothing do with with effectively governing the most powerful nation on Earth. Yet these talking points are now the most dominant force in American politics due to the binary ways in which the parties represent these non-governmental issues.  The political strategists in both parties understand that a debate on ethics is an endless exercise in futility that can be advantageously used to gain political power by extorting our beliefs.

WAKE UP, AMERICA! Just because a politician claims to be for or against your particular stance on an ethical issue does not mean that he or she has the ability, or desire, to resolve the real problems that plague our nation! Look at how useless Congress becomes when we elect officials based on our emotions rather than our intelligence! We should all be able to agree that the most important issues are the ones that affect our everyday lives, such as the economic, food, and energy crises. Can’t we agree to put aside our petty differences to make sure the most imperative issues are dealt with first? Dire consequences are on the horizon if we continue to ignore the larger issues and remain content with the empty promises made by our leaders.

WAKE UP, AMERICA! We must demand that Senators Obama and McCain present real solutions to the larger crises that face our great nation. At this critical juncture in American history we should not be voting for a representative of a political party, but rather we should be voting for a plan of action. We must be willing to ignore party lines and vote for whichever candidate offers the best plan. We must hold whomever wins this election responsible for executing the plan we vote for, and accountable should he fail to do so.

MOST IMPORTANTLY WE MUST MAKE IT CLEAR THAT WE WILL NEVER AGAIN ALLOW AN ADMINISTRATION THAT FAILS US TO REMAIN IN OFFICE.
